Image Details

Customized classics are size 5×8, which is common for fiction titles. For best results, please choose a photo that is wider than it is tall (landscape instead of portrait), so it can spread across the entire cover. (See examples of portrait photos in the second row of cover examples.) Images with the focal point to the right (which becomes the front of the book) work best.

In order to avoid a fuzzy cover, your photo should be at least 8.25 inches high with a resolution of 300 (2475 pixels).

If you’re not sure what your photo’s dimensions are, send the highest quality (largest size) you have, and we’ll take it from there.

Please note that, in order to keep costs down, the price includes only one cover design (no revisions), and we do not update the book’s interior. However, we’re happy to do either or both for an additional, agreed-upon fee.

Important note: Please only send photos you have been given permission to use. If it’s a photo of yourself, check with the photographer first. Professional photographers may give you a release; please share that with us before we begin.

If you send a photo of a friend, ask him or her before choosing it (or, if you want to keep it a surprise, ask someone in his or her family).
